This remembrance walk/run honors the memory of our Merced County fallen service members.

The 14th Annual Run/Walk for the Fallen will be held in conjunction with the Merced Field of Honor on Sunday, November 10, 2024. This event is a National run and it honors and remembers those service members that have died while serving our Country.  We honor our fallen soldiers locally through this free event and the community is welcome to join us in taking part in a 5K/10K walk/run.  This event is "timed" and not “timed”.    It is a day to come together and remember those in our community that have fallen while serving.  The start and finish will take place near the main lawn at Merced College at M St. & Yosemite Ave in front of the Merced College Theater.  We will set up rememberance row along the first part of the race so the community can have a better understanding of the soldiers we honor on this day. We start our day with registration (you can sign up online prior to the event) and once you have signed the waiver you will receive a runners/walkers bib.  We will have a ceremony with the posting of colors, National Anthem and a speaker to set the course of remembrance.

This event offers the public an opportunity to show gratitude for the service and sacrifice of our Fallen Soldiers from Merced County and to their families. It attracts all ages, families and the community to come out and be a part of this great event.  As you walk/run the course you will pass crosses with pictures of our fallen that we honor on this day.  These soldiers left behind families, friends and we hope that you will come out to this free event that honors and remembers our fallen. These men/women paid the ultimate sacrifice for our freedoms which is something we can never forget !
