Caring for Flag Mementoes

We know many of you post various mementoes on your flags.  They are a special recognition to those loves ones who have served our county and our community. 

 

Should you wish to post mementoes, please consider the following recommendations, based on nine years of experience to keep them safe while on the Merced Field of Honor.

 

• Original photos are not recommended. In instances of water damage or some other loss, we recommend only using copies. Various stores in town can assist you in making copies. The same is true for any other original document.

 

• Laminate your materials. Again, stores in town can assist you in lamination of images or documents. When laminating, design you lamination to allow a hole to punched in the corner for attachment to the flag. This also prevents water from entering the document.
